Jennifer Pettigrew

Jennifer studied drawing and painting at Edinburgh College of Art tutored by Robin Phillipson, William Gillies and Bob Callender and was involved with education before she stopped teaching in 2000 to devote her time to painting.

She has always been attracted to shapes, texture and colour. She works with landscape, still life and a mixture of the two. The media used changes from day to day as she continues to experiment with handmade paper, ink, pencil and mainly water based paints.

Jennifer is an elected member of the Scottish Society of Women Artists, an elected member of Paisley Art Institute, Vice President of Visual Arts Scotland 2001-2006 and in 2007 she was elected Honorary Member of Visual Arts Scotland. Jennifer has won many awards, the most recent being the Plein Air Prize awarded at the Paisley Art Institute in 2007.
