Ians reputation has grown steadily since leaving the teaching profession in 1997 to devote himself totally to the pursuit and development of his own artistic career, and having featured in International Artist magazine as a finalist in their global landscape competition.

"Traveling extensively throughout Scotland and the continent I'm forever fascinated by the visual imagery I encounter on reaching my destined ports of call. Each day presents a new cuadro of settings, of movement, colour, rhythm and pattern. These, coupled with a free flow of imaginative translation, have provided me with material to create a fusion of life, of shimmering colours, distinctive buildings of the land, and abstract expressionistic vistas."
